In Techno 293 OD competition, the skill level and the search for ever-better equipment is endless. In light winds, increasing numbers of riders are sailing with a loose, wide open outhaul, to help getting a fuller setting, retain power and be able to “pump” with maximum effect. To improve the sail’s aerodynamics, we’ve modified the geometrics of the One Design boom, widening the rear section. This means the tubes are wider apart, leaving more space for the sail, which can achieve a fuller setting without deforming too much on the downwind tube.

The new boom has been validated by the Techno class and is sanctioned for use in Techno 293 OD 2019 racing. The new boom is serious progression from previous models, so we’re expecting the new design to be in heavy demand from riders and clubs alike in the coming months.
